The British Compact Collectors' Society

The Society was established several years ago by our founder and president, Juliette Edwards, as a result of interest in her privately-published book on British compacts. Since then, the Society has held annual conventions.

The Society has its own website at:
www.compactcollectors.co.uk

There are currently about 250 members, some with large collections, but many new members too. Individual membership is 15.00 per annum and 20.00 sterling for overseas members, and runs from 1st Arpil to the end of the following March. New members joining between 1st January and 31st March of the current year will enjoy up to 3 months' free membership, renewing on April 1st of the following year. Cheques should be made payable to BCCS. You can download an application form on the website.

There are 3 newsletters published each year, containing news and contributions from members, so items and articles are very welcome as well as photographs. Members' badges are also available at a cost of 4.00, designed in an attractive blue and gold, featuring our logo, which is reproduced by kind permission of Laughton & Sons Ltd., makers of Stratton compacts.

Some local regional groups have been set up in various areas around the country where members can meet up with each other and a list of these is available. One of our aims is to put collectors in touch with each other and many new friendships have resulted. A list of names and phone numbers is published and inclusion on the list is at each member's own discretion. The list is not available here for security reasons. Some of our members are collector/dealers and again, a list is available to members. If any collector/dealer wishes their name to be made available on this website, then I require their written permission to do so.

Juliette is a collector/researcher rather than a dealer, but sometimes sells her surplus compacts by mail and also some American compacts on behalf of a member/dealer living in the USA. An up-to-date list of compacts for sale is available to members.
